symbi·ot'ic
1. Biology A close, prolonged association between two or more different organisms
of different species that may, but does not necessarily, benefit each member.
A 'Symbiotic' relationship is found in all that is creation, all experiences physically and mentally are intertwined in the most elegant alchemical dance of creation and destruction.
The simplest action can create events that could mean the extinction of an entire species of flora or fauna, or the flourishing of another. This symbiotic relationship is one of the few undeniable inevitabilities in our universe, this is in fact what creates change, gives life, takes life, the driving force behind this universe, the dancer.
ADi's work is in essence an historical record cataloging 'Symbiotic' relationships between mankind and native Australian mammals, as paintings rather than linguistically, marking this aeon and symbolically defining our madness and ignorance as we further drape a veil over nature, obsessed with consumption and greed, all for mere product and status.
"In our essence we hold the ability to create and dismantle entire universes,
often doing so unknowingly, some choose to dismantle, I choose to create".
ADi, 2010
FURTHERMORE...
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms, and, if it proved to be mean, why then to get the whole and genuine meanness of it, and publish its meanness to the world; or if it were sublime, to know it by experience, and be able to give a true account of it in my excursion".
- Henry David Thoreau, Walden, "Where I live, and what I lived for".
